 1. Cochin Fort

The oldest surviving European fort in India, this is where the Portuguese built their first settlement in India. It was an important trading post and a strategic location for the spice trade. The Fort was later captured by the Dutch and then taken over by the British, who made it their headquarters until they left India in 1947.

The Fort is an amazing sight to behold with its large ramparts, bastions and massive gates giving you a sense of wonderment as you walk around.
